" I want to take this time to thank Tom and Sally for the most wonderful weekend my family has ever experienced in the great outdoors. I have lived in the Upper Peninsula all my life, but had never went on an all day canoe and kayaking trip. It was marvelous! We went on the Manistique River through the Seney Wildlife Refuge - it was fun, relaxing, and an extraordinary experience! What great opportunities await the photographer and wildlife lovers!!
Thank you and we'll be back again next year!"

Northland Outfitters offers a great fishing experience to fishermen.

"I have had the fortunate pleasure of hooking, playing, and landing great fish from Michigan to Florida and Hawaii, some that pushed
40 lbs...the brookie stands out among all the rest as my personal favorite."

"Our shortest trip, covering a beautiful secluded 10 mile stretch of the Manistique River, is a favorite of both fishermen and recreational paddlers. Pike, Small Mouth Bass, Perch, Walleye, and even an occasional Brook Trout are among the species in these waters, which drain from Big Manistique Lake. Wildlife await the keen eyed and quiet paddler. One Day on the Fox River - click here to view our canoe & kayak rates
"If you want to get a taste of the Fox River (and its prized Brookies) but can't spend two days and a night doing it, we do offer a one-day option on a more accessible section. We drop you off at the Fox River State Forest Campground northwest of Seney, then pick you up at the end of the day at the Seney Township Campground. You'll spend about 4 hours paddling and the rest of the time fishing. Like the lower Fox, this section is tag-alder lined and has deadfall to negotiate so it requires good paddling skills, but it is still relatively remote and is the source of some of the largest trophy Brookies we've seen. Our longest trips combine the Fox and Manistique Rivers and can last 6 or 7 days"

Fox River Canoeing & Fishing Trip - Click here to view our canoe & kayak rates
"The legendary Fox River, made famous by Ernest Hemingway, is a wilderness adventure for the avid fisherman and experienced paddler. Numerous deadfall in this wild and natural river makes it tough canoeing but good fishing. Overnight fishing trips can take from 1 to 3 nights."

Overnight Trips on the Manistique River - click here to view our canoe & kayak rates
"For those who want more than a day trip, we also offer excursions that can last anywhere from 2 to 7 days. The Manistique River starts at Manistique Lake and flows southwesterly more than 70 miles emptying into Lake Michigan at the city of Manistique. There will be a few cabins here and there along the way but most of this stretch is wilderness. It's one of the longest, undeveloped stretches of river still left in Michigan and is suitable for paddlers of all skill levels. Many families, scout, and church groups enjoy this trip." "The Big Island Lake Wilderness contains 23 small lakes nestled in 6,600 acres of rolling woodlands in the Hiawatha National Forest, midway between Munising and Manistique, an hour west of our Headquarters in Germfask. The scenic wilderness area is primarily roadless, offering secluded canoeing, fishing, and camping. Many of the lakes are connected by

maintained portages, while some are remote, making access more challenging. Muskie, Pike, Bass, Trout, and a variety of pan fish can be found in the lakes and streams. Special fishing regulations apply, as do special wilderness rules, including prohibitions against mechanized equipment, motors and wheeled devices such as portage carts. Most of the lakes have designated primitive campsites."
